Multi-factor authentication
Starting with IBM® Storage Sentinel 1.1.6, you can set up multifactor authentication (MFA) on IBM Storage Sentinel new and existing user accounts. With multifactor authentication, the engine can act as an open authentication (OATH) server requiring users to authenticate the login process with a combination of the username, password, and a one time passcode (OTP). You will determine if you require this security feature and learn to implement it. Typically, an authentication app such as Google Authenticator is used to set up the MFA client-side application. This functionality is disabled by default.
If you decide to enable MFA on the engine, each user account will get an alphanumeric key to add in the selected authentication app. The user can use the 6-digit OTP when logging into the IBM Storage Sentinel user interface with their username and password.
