Upgrading IBM Storage Scale native REST API
You can upgrade IBM Storage Scale native REST API manually or by using the installation toolkit.
Prerequisite
- Root access must be available on all cluster nodes to perform upgrade activities.
- When using the installation toolkit, passwordless SSH must be configured across all nodes.
- IBM Storage Scale native REST API does not support the
mmdshfunction for general use. Use tools such as SSH or SCP to perform remote operations across nodes.
Note: The IBM Storage Scale native REST API feature is upgraded as
part of the IBM Storage Scale upgrade process.
Manual upgrade
Perform the IBM Storage Scale upgrade on each node by following the documented manual upgrade procedure. Ensure that the IBM Storage Scale native REST API packages are upgraded as part of the overall upgrade. For more information, see Upgrading IBM Storage Scale protocol nodes or Upgrading IBM Storage Scale non-protocol nodes that run on Linux.
Upgrade using installation toolkit
The installation toolkit detects and upgrades the IBM Storage Scale native REST API feature as part of the IBM Storage Scale upgrade. Make yourself familiar with the installation
toolkit procedure. For more information, see Overview of the installation toolkit and Preparing to use the installation toolkit.
