Managing AFM filesets

The Active File Management (AFM) page provides the following management capabilities:

Creating AFM filesets

Click Create AFM Fileset to create a new AFM fileset. The creation dialog allows you to configure the fileset with AFM-specific attributes, including Protocol NFS and S3.

AFM Control operations

You can perform the following control operations on existing AFM filesets by selecting a fileset and choosing the appropriate action from the row actions menu:
  • Prefetch: Initiates data prefetching from the home site to the cache site. You can prefetch all files, specific files from a list, or files from specific directories.
  • Evict: Removes cached data from the cache site while maintaining the AFM relationship. This operation helps free up cache space by removing data that is no longer needed in the cache. You can evict all files, specific files from a list, or Evict Least Recently Used files.
  • Make Active: Activates an AFM cache relationship.
These operations help you manage data placement and optimize performance based on your workload requirements.
