Requirements for UID and GID on the cache and home clusters

This topic describes the UID and GID requirements on the cache and home clusters.

User IDs and group IDs must be managed the same way across the cache and home clusters. However, for AFM relationships, which are using the native GPFS protocol, where user IDs are different on the home and the cache, you can remap the IDs by using the GPFS UID remapping.
