Configuration considerations for CES clusters
The configuration considerations for a CES cluster, on which the S3 protocol is enabled, are as follows:
- Up to 10-node CES cluster based on IBM Storage Scale 5.2.2
- For each CES node:
- Operating System: RHEL 8.x or RHEL 9.x
- Architecture: x86_64, Power ppc64le, Z - s390x (RH 9.x)
- Memory: Up to 64 GB RAM for NooBaa service configured with up to eight endpoint processes
- Depending on the workload requirements you can increase or decrease the number of S3 NooBaa
protocol stack ‘endpoint’ processes by using the mms3 config command. Ensure that
endpoint processes are sufficient to manage workloads.Note: By default, CES S3 is configured with two endpoint processes. Increase the endpoints to have 8–16 endpoint processes based on workload and available memory of the system.
