Configuring IBM Storage Scale native REST API
After you install the IBM Storage Scale native REST API, you can create and manage IBM Storage Scale cluster by using the scalectl commands or native REST API endpoints.
To configure the native REST API cluster,
complete the following steps:
- Create a native REST API cluster or migrate an existing classic IBM Storage Scale cluster to the use of native REST API. Note: You must create a single-node cluster first, then add additional nodes as required. Unlike theFor more information, see the following topics:
mmcrcluster
command, the initial cluster creation request does not support adding more than one node.- scalectl cluster command
- Cluster endpoints
- Migrating an existing IBM Storage Scale cluster management to the IBM Storage Scale native REST API
Note: After the native REST API cluster is created, the following conditions are met:- The cluster configuration repository (CCR) is created, and the mmsdrsev service is active. For more information, see Cluster configuration repository and IBM Storage Scale port usage.
- The administration daemon is configured and can process the scalectl commands and REST API requests for single node functions.
- Coexistence of mm-commands is supported. For more information, see Coexistence with mm-commands CLI.
- Set up authentication and authorization for the native REST API. For more information, see the following topics:
- Create node identities for each node before adding them to the native REST API cluster. For more information, see Node identities.
