Troubleshooting Shared memory communications direct issues

To display SMC-D statistics, information about the active SMC sockets, and the error codes use smcd and smcss commands.

  1. Display SMC-D statistics.
    # smcd stats
  2. Check information about the SMC sockets.
    # smcss
An example of the SMC-D connection is as follows:
     ACTIVE 00000 1497454 172.20.145.18:1191 172.20.145.20:39900 0000 SMCD
An example of the TCP/IP connection, which fell back, is as follows:
    ACTIVE 00000 0129066 10.20.82.10:36169 10.20.82.8:1191 0002 TCP 0x05000000/0x01010000
  3. Check the error message for the TCP error code.
    # man smcss
A sample output is as follows:
     ...
     Linux error codes:
     ...
     0x05000000 Peer declined during handshake
