Configuring call home
In IBM Storage Scale System 3000, IBM Storage Scale System 3200, IBM Storage Scale System 5000, and IBM Storage Scale System 6000, IBM Storage Scale System version 6.1.1.x can generate call home events when a drive in an attached enclosure needs to be replaced. In IBM Storage Scale System 3000, IBM Storage Scale System 3200, IBM Storage Scale System 3500, IBM Storage Scale System 5000, and IBM Storage Scale System 6000, can also generate call home events for other hardware-related events in the I/O server nodes, protocol nodes, and client nodes that need service.
IBM Storage Scale System 5000 hardware events rely on POWER® system OPAL logs. IBM Storage Scale System 3000 , IBM Storage Scale System 3200, IBM Storage Scale System 3500, and IBM Storage Scale System 6000 hardware events rely on mmcallhome and mmhealth commands.
Starting from IBM Storage Scale System 6.1.9.2, the call home is no longer using Electronic Service Agent (ESA). ESA was completely removed (RPM is no longer available) from IBM Storage Scale System 6.2.1.0 onward.
To ensure a smooth transition, re run the esscallhomeconf command after you complete a code update from an earlier code level of IBM Storage Scale System 6.1.9.2 to IBM Storage Scale System 6.1.9.2 and higher.
