Install the ESS software and complete the network configuration

In the second phase of incorporating Elastic Storage Server (ESS) building block in IBM Storage Scale Erasure Code Edition cluster, you must install the ESS software and complete the network configuration.

Follow ESS Deployment Guide in the ESS document to install and update the software on the ESS building block that includes the EMS node.

Follow ESS common installation instructions to load the configuration and check the building block health state.
Follow ESS new deployment instructions to upgrade the EMS and I/O nodes and creating networks. Stop the steps before creating ESS cluster.
Note: Do not create ESS cluster as the EMS and I/O nodes of ESS building block will be added into ECE cluster.

Note: Make sure all nodes’ IP addresses are correctly resolved by hostname, which is used as the daemon network. Configure the SSH passwordless access for all nodes, including ECE cluster nodes, ESS EMS, and I/O nodes.
