Configuring IBM Storage Ceph network configuration

As a storage and network administrator, set up the data network to support the IBM Storage Ceph cluster.

For optimum network performance, the two recommendations are:
  • use LACP (802.3ad) for the Ready Node's A and B ports and corresponding data switch ports to provide increased bandwidth and resilience.
  • Configure the Ready Node ports and their associated data switch ports for the 9K jumbo frame support.
The following links explain 802.3ad link aggregation and Red Hat Enterprise Linux port bonding:
The following example script sets the MTU to 9K.
# nmcli con mod id bond0 802-3-ethernet.mtu 9000
Note: Configure your data switch pair for the same bonding and 9K jumbo frame per your vendor documentation. Port bonding between data switch ports must align with corresponding Ready Node bonded ports.

Your system is now ready for IBM Storage Ceph installation and configuration.
