Retrieving system log files

You can retrieve system log files to help resolve the causes of server stoppages.

Retrieve the following log files to give to IBM service:
  • AIX operating systemsRedirect the output from the command errpt -a into a file: errpt -a >errpt.txt.
  • Linux operating systemsCopy the /var/log/messages file.
  • Windows operating systemsSave a copy of the Event Logs, as seen from the Event Viewer.
