Checking whether servers are protected

To ensure that an IBM® Storage Protect server is protected, verify that the server database is backed up regularly and that there is enough free space available for the database and the active and archive logs.

Procedure

  1. On the Overview page of the Operations Center, the Inventory area shows a status summary for databases and logs. If an error or warning icon is shown, click inside the Inventory area to open the Servers page.
  2. In the table, view information for individual servers.
Tip: You can view more information about some columns by hovering over the column headings.
  3. In the Last Database Backup column, check whether database backups are running as expected. If a server database was not backed up recently (for example, in the last 24 hours), back up the database.
  4. Ensure that there is enough space available for the database and the active and archive logs.
  5. To view more information that you can use to troubleshoot problems, complete the following steps:
    1. Select a server row and click Details.
    2. Click the Properties tab.
The Properties page lists commonly used properties for the selected server.
Tip: To view more properties, issue the following commands:

      QUERY STATUS

      QUERY SERVER FORMAT=DETAILED
