Assigning security notifications to an administrator

You can assign one or more security notifications to an administrator for investigation and resolution.

Before you begin

Before you assign a security notification, ensure that the respective administrator ID is registered on the hub server and is unlocked.

About this task

The administrator who is assigned to the notification is responsible for investigating it to determine if the notification is a false positive or an actual ransomware attack. In the case of a ransomware attack, the administrator is responsible for resolving the problem. After you assign a notification to an administrator, the administrator ID of the owner is shown in the Security Notifications table. The owner is not automatically notified about the assignment.

Procedure

To assign one or more security notifications to an administrator, complete the following steps:

  1. To open the Security Notifications page, click Overviews > Security.
  2. On the Security Notifications page, select one or more security notifications.
  3. Click Assign.
An Assign Notifications dialog box is displayed.
  4. In the Assign to list, select the administrator ID, and click Assign Notification.
  5. If you are not certain whether the administrator regularly monitors the Security Notifications page, notify the administrator about their assignment.
Tip: To view the notifications that are assigned to them, administrators must log in to the Operations Center and open the Security Notifications page.
