Changing storage pool settings

You can change various storage pool settings from the Operations Center, including general, migration, replication, and data-deduplication settings.

About this task

You can use the Operations Center to change the settings of commonly-used storage pool properties, including the following items:
  • General properties
    • Access permission
    • Maximum number of scratch volumes
  • Migration properties
    • Start migration (high threshold)
    • Stop migration (low threshold)
    • Number of processes
    • Delay period
    • Next pool
  • Reclamation properties
    • Start reclamation (threshold)
    • Number of processes
  • Data-deduplication properties
    • Enable or disable deduplication
  • Compression properties
    • Enable or disable compression
  • Related storage pool properties
    • Overflow pool
    • Protection pool
The available properties differ by storage pool type.
Tip: You can change other storage pool settings by issuing the appropriate commands from the command line. For information on commands, see the documentation.

Procedure

To change storage pool settings from the Operations Center, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Storage Pools page, select a storage pool.
  2. Click Details, and then click the Properties tab.
  3. Click the value of a property that you want to change, and then enter a new value or select from a list of options.
    Tip: Before you click Save, you can change multiple properties on the page. If you click Cancel, all of the changes that you made since the last save are canceled.
  4. Click Save.
