Defining a rule to generate data deduplication statistics

You can define a rule to generate data deduplication statistics on a regularly scheduled basis for specified nodes, node groups, and file spaces. You can generate statistics at the same time each day, or at specified intervals.

Before you begin

Determine the scope of the operation for collecting data deduplication statistics:
Nodes
You can specify the names of client nodes and defined groups of client nodes. You can also specify a combination of client node names and client-node group names.
File spaces
You can specify file space names and file space identifiers (FSIDs).

Procedure

Issue the DEFINE STGRULE command with the ACTIONTYPE=GENDEDUPSTATS setting.

For more information about the DEFINE STGRULE command, see DEFINE STGRULE (Define a rule for generating data deduplication statistics).

Results

When the storage rule is active, the server generates the requested data deduplication statistics. To view the statistics, issue the QUERY DEDUPSTATS command.

For more information about the QUERY DEDUPSTATS command, see QUERY DEDUPSTATS (Query data deduplication statistics).
