IBM Storage Protect for z/OS Media storage devices
IBM Storage Protect for z/OS Media provides access to storage devices, such as tape device types and FILE device types that are attached to a z/OS media server.
The following table lists the supported devices and examples of Tivoli Storage Manager device types:

If a Virtual Tape Library (VTL) has device characteristics of IBM 3590 recording technology, the storage resources can be accessed through the z/OS media server by the 3590 device type.
