Running a tiering rule

An active tiering rule and its subrules run daily at the scheduled time. However, you can run a tiering rule and its subrules without waiting for the scheduled time.

Procedure

Complete the following steps:

  1. On the Operations Center menu bar, click Storage > Storage Rules.
  2. Select the tiering rule and click Run Now.
    Tip: On the command line, you can run the tiering rule immediately by using the START STGRULE command.

Results

Processing of the tiering rule begins. Data might not be tiered immediately because it must still meet the rule's requirements for age and state before it can be tiered.
