Repairing and recovering hydrated data
You can repair damaged data in container storage pools after a disaster by recovering the data from a hydrated tape copy.
A hydrated copy is a complete replica of a data object. The data object is copied without compression or deduplication.
Copy storage rules are used to create a backup copy of a container storage pool or an on-premises cloud-container storage pool to tape storage, creating a fully hydrated, air-gapped copy for disaster recovery. To recover lost data in a container storage pool after a disaster, you can use the tape volumes to restore the hydrated data.
