Licensing and server compatibility

You must meet licensing requirements and ensure that the server and storage agent versions are compatible for LAN-free operations.

  • A storage agent license is required for each system that performs LAN-free operations. A IBM Storage Protect server license is also required. If you use large libraries, you need a IBM Storage Protect Extended Edition license.
  • For each IBM Storage Protect server that is configured as a library client or library manager in a library sharing environment, you need a storage agent license.
