Customizing at-risk settings for clients
In the Operations Center, you can customize the settings that define which clients are at risk. This action can help you spot the at-risk indications for the most important clients.
About this task
By default, the at-risk settings that are specified on the General Settings
page () apply to all clients that are managed by the Operations Center. In the Operations Center, a client has an at-risk indication if a problem
occurred in one of the following situations:
- During the most recent scheduled backup of the client
- During a backup that started within a specified time interval
To reduce the number of false indications, take the following
actions:
- For clients that do not require frequent backups, specify a longer time interval for the at-risk indication.
- Bypass clients that are no longer associated with regular backup schedules.
Tip: If you do not schedule backups, or if you use a backup scheduling application other
than IBM® Storage Protect, only the following at-risk states
are relevant:
- Data
- Policy
- Failed
- Missed
- Skipped
- Warning
Procedure
To customize the at-risk indication for one or more clients, complete the following steps:
- On the Clients page, select the clients for which you want to change the at-risk settings.
- Click Set At Risk, and choose either the Bypass or Custom at-risk modes.
