Managing retention rules
You can use retention rules to help you comply with government, industry, and business requirements for the long-term retention and eventual deletion of data.
Managing retention sets
Retention sets are point-in-time collections of active backup data for a set of clients. To meet long-tern data retention requirements, the data in retention sets is kept in primary storage, copied to tape, or copied to cloud object storage. You can view status, configuration, and occupancy information for retention sets.
Managing retention holds
You can use retention holds to prevent one or more retention sets from being deleted. A retention set that is added to a retention hold cannot be deleted, regardless of its expiration date, until the retention set is explicitly released from the hold.
