You can reset the expired passwords for the IBM
Storage Protect server accounts that are enabled with multifactor
authentication (MFA).
Before you begin
To reset the password for an account that is enabled with MFA, you need a time-based
one-time password (TOTP) passcode. The TOTP is generated by a security application that is installed
in your mobile device or workstation.
Procedure
To reset the expired password of an administrator account that is enabled with MFA,
complete the following steps:
-
Sign on to the server by using the command line administrative client, specifying the user ID
and the current password with a TOTP passcode.
A message appears stating that your password has expired.
- Specify the current password with a TOTP passcode.
- Specify a new password.
- Specify the new password again for verification.
The new password is updated for the account.
- Specify the new password with a TOTP passcode to complete the password reset
process.
