The Alerts page of the Operations Center can help you identify the cause of
alerts.
About this task
You can view a list of active and inactive alerts and the
corresponding server messages that explain each alert.
Procedure
The following actions can help you identify the cause
of alerts:
- On the Overview page, review the Alerts area
to see the number and types of alerts.
- On the Alerts page, review the list of active and inactive alerts
for all servers that are managed by the Operations Center.
Tip: To view a list of alerts for an individual server, complete one of the following
steps:
- Filter the contents of the table by Server column.
- Access an Alerts page that is dedicated to an individual server by
completing the following steps:
- On the Servers page, select the server, and click
Details.
- Click the Alerts tab.
- In the Alert Message column of the Alerts table, review
the messages, which are summary explanations of the alerts.
- On the Alerts page, select an alert. In the Activity Log pane, review other server messages that were logged around the time of the latest occurrence of the selected alert.
Tips:
- To show or hide the Activity Log pane, double-click the Activity Log bar.
- To resize the Activity Log pane, click and drag the Activity Log bar.
- If an alert relates to a client, diagnose possible client errors by reviewing
client-log entries from around the time of the alert. See the information about diagnosing client
errors in the "Related tasks" section, later on this page.
