You can send data from object clients to IBM Storage Protect. The exact implementation for sending data to an IBM Storage Protect server depends on the Amazon S3 client application or the Amazon S3 programming SDK used to implement the client interaction.

Before you begin

Before you configure your object agent service, complete the following tasks:
  1. Review the requirements and restrictions provided by your S3 vendor that apply to the S3 client that you are using as your object client.
  2. Ensure that software requirements are met. To integrate object clients with IBM Storage Protect, this version is required:
    • IBM Storage Protect 8.1.11 or later
