CLOUDUSESOFTDELETE
The CLOUDUSESOFTDELETE option specifies how the cloud objects must be deleted using the specified parameters.
The CLOUDUSESOFTDELETE option specifies whether cloud objects must be deleted by using specific version IDs, or if the overall object must be deleted. This only applies to S3 cloud types when object versioning is turned on in the cloud provider and IBM® Storage Protect records the version ID for a given cloud object.
When the CLOUDUSESOFTDELETE option is set to Yes, and object versioning is turned on for the S3 bucket, you must setup bucket rules on the cloud provider to complete the deletion process. If you set the option to No, space will continue to be used on the cloud provider even though the object appears to be deleted. By default, the parameter is set to No.
If you are using this server option with AWS bucket replication, any objects that should have been deleted before you set the CLOUDUSESOFTDELETE option must be manually removed from the target bucket. The IBM Storage Protect has no access to the target bucket and cannot perform clean-up of these objects.
