Starting a command-line session
You can start a command-line session by invoking the dsmc command.




/usr/bin
directory contains
a symbolic link to the IBM Spectrum® Protect executable,
and all DSM environment variables are set, you can enter the dsmc command from
any directory. Otherwise, enter the fully qualified path of the command.
On the command line enter dsmc
followed by the command (batch mode). If the
/usr/bin
or
opt/bin
directory contains a symbolic link to the IBM Spectrum Protect installation directory, you can enter the
dsmc command from any directory. Otherwise you can enter the fully qualified
name.

One can start client with "dsmc" command only in case PATH environment variable is updates with path to the client location.
You can open the Windows
Start menu and select .
Your IBM Spectrum Protect administrator can require you to use a password to connect to the server. The client prompts you for a password, if it is required. Contact your administrator if you do not know your password.
