Time and Items Required

You can set up and install the device in the following ways:

  • As a stand-alone unit on a flat surface.
  • In a 19-in. Electronic Industries Association (EIA) rack using a Brocade rack mount kit. See Mounting the Device for applicable rack mount kits.
The following table describes the main installation and setup tasks, the estimated time that is required for each, and the items that are required to complete the tasks for a device that is fully populated with port blades. Configurations with fewer blades or ports require less time. These time estimates assume a prepared installation site and appropriate power and network connectivity.
