Capacity overview
The pane has Capacity Overview as the title, and storage system name as the subheader and two buttons, Back and View Details as primary action buttons.
The Used Capacity column displays a meter bar graph to show the used
capacity against total capacity (and as percentage) in GiB units. The meter graph displays a black
marker at the capacity limit threshold percentage value. The used capacity portion of meter is
colored based on the used capacity value again threshold value.
- If used capacity >= threshold, it displays red color
- If used capacity >= 90% of threshold and < threshold, it displays amber or yellow color
- If used capacity < 90% of threshold, it displays green color
Note: Increasing the capacity changes the threshold in the Used Capacity
meter chart.
The View Details button navigates you to the classic IBM Storage Insights system overview page.
After the subheader, the pane displays the donut graph of Used Capacity, Available Capacity, and Total Capacity labeled in the centre of the donut.
After this section, there are four collapsible sections:
- Utilization: It displays Usable Capacity, Overhead Capacity, Capacity Limit, Written Capacity Limit, Total Provisioned, Recent growth, and Mapped Capacity. All the properties are read-only fields.
- Protection: It displays Safeguarded Capacity, Snapshot Written Capacity, Unprotected Volumes, and Snapshot Provisioned Capacity. All the properties are read-only fields.
- Savings: It displays Deduplication Savings, Data Reduction, Total Compression Ratio, Pool Compression Ratio, Drive Compression Ratio, Total Compression Savings, Pool Compression Savings, and Drive Compression Savings. All the properties are in read-only fields.
- Planning: It displays 3 columns, where first column does not have any column header but
last 2 columns show values for Today’s Growth and Forecasted
Growth:
- The first row is Used capacity and the values are displayed in GiB units along with the percentage units that are displayed within braces next to GiB unit value.
- The second row is Written capacity and the values are displayed in GiB units along with the percentage units that are displayed within braces next to GiB unit value.
- The third row is Compression Ratio and the values that are displayed in ratios that are separated with a colon (For example, 5.5:1)
- The fourth row is Surplus (+) or Deficit (-) and the values that are displayed in GiB units with a + symbol (for Surplus) or – symbol (for Deficit) preceding the value. If there is a deficit, the whole value is highlighted in red color.
- The fifth row is Capacity Limit Reached and it does not have any value for 2nd column, but displays a formatted date in 3rd column.
Multiple sections can be expanded in this pane simultaneously. All the sections are in collapsed state by default. The sections are disabled if they are not applicable for the selected storage type and a tooltip is also displayed with this message on hover.
