Storage systems tabular

On the Storage systems page, you can view all the storage systems added to the tenant with all their attributes and properties in a tabular view by using the carbon grid.

To navigate to this page, click Inventory > Storage systems. The Systems and Call home systems tabs are displayed.

Systems

Data table displays the Storage systems, Health, Alerts, Data collection, Used capacity, Partitions, Ransomware threat detection, Threat notification recipients, Defender integration, Pools, Volumes, System type, Firmware, Host connections, Location, Maintenance start time, Maintenance end time, and Maintenance status columns. For more information about each column, see Information about block storage systems section in Block storage systems.

I/O rate read and I/O rate write columns are visible when the Show performance toggle is enabled.

The contents of Volumes and Pools are displayed as plain text instead of links to classic IBM Storage Insights pages to the free users.

Alert column is not displayed to the free users.

The tabular view is divided into following sections:
Table 1. Storage systems tabular view
Section Description
Migration Partition window When you click the Partition column, the Migration Partition window appears with active migration status.

For more information, see Migration Partition window.

Security Parameters window When you click an icon under the Defender integration column for a specific storage system, the Security Parameters window appears.

For more information, see Security Parameters window.

Storage type filter tags When you click on any of the four filter tags, it filters the data records in the table for that particular type of storage, and the filter appears in the tags bar.

For more information, see Storage type filter tags.

System and FlashSystem grid labels The system and FlashSystem grid labels provide information about total number of systems, number of FlashSystem grids, and systems in the FlashSystem grids.

For more information, see System and FlashSystem grid labels.

Quick filters panel The panel has 4 sections, System health, Data collection, Show performance, and Marked for maintenance.

For more information, see Quick filters panel.

Table toolbar The table toolbar is displayed just above the table grid.

For more information, see Table toolbar.

Filter tag bar

The filter tag bar is placed between the table toolbar and the table grid. The bar is by default that is hidden as there would be no filters that are applied by default. On applying any filter from either quick filters panel or system type filter tags pane, the filter is added to the tags bar and the tags bar becomes visible. The tags in this tag bar have a close/clear button next to the text, and clicking that button removes that filter from the tags pane, and also the data is no longer filtered based on that condition.

If more than one filter is applied, the Clear filters option is displayed. On clicking, it removes all the applied filters at once.

Context menu options

The table grid has a fixed width, always visible column at the end of the table with a Options button in it.

For more information, see Context menu.
Capacity overview The Capacity Overview pane opens as a right overlay pane, when Used capacity column bar is clicked.

For more information, see Capacity pane.

Status pane The status pane opens as a right overlay pane with full width, when Health or Alerts icons are clicked in the data grid table.

For more information, see Status pane.

Note: You can select multiple storage systems in the storage systems overview page. After the selection, several available action menus such as View capacity, View performance, and Data collection are displayed at the top of the storage systems overview table in the blue bar. View Capacity and View Performance actions redirect you to the corresponding classic UI pages for detailed analysis.
You can perform the following actions in the storage systems tabular view:
  • Show or hide the columns, create column-sets that are a group of columns, so that the set of columns can be selected in a single click later.
  • View all the attributes and properties of any selected storage system.
  • View the capacity-related attributes and properties of any selected storage system.
  • View the open health errors, alerts, and notifications in a selected storage system.
  • View the details of an alert or notification and acknowledge and remove them.
  • View and update custom tags, location, and capacity limit thresholds of any storage system.
  • Expand FlashSystem grid records to view associated storage systems attributes and properties. FlashSystem grid records in the tabular view are highlighted in the blue color. Aggregated data is displayed for the systems that are part of FlashSystem grid. You can expand a FlashSystem grid record in the tabular view to view the details of storage systems that are part of the FlashSystem grid. When a user clicks a FlashSystem grid record, the Flash Grid My World Navigation dashboard appears. For more information, see FlashSystem grid.
  • When a user clicks a storage system name under the Storage systems column, the storage system overview page is displayed along with a side navigation that allows users to get the details of associated resources with the selected storage system.
  • In Alerts column, the icon and count of highest severity is displayed if there are alerts of different severities in a system.
  • In the Data Collection column, among all the data collectors that are attached to a storage system, the data collector that performed the latest data collection is displayed. Also, the latest time among data collection, probe, and performance timings is displayed if data collection is successful or running properly. If there are any errors or failures in data collection, the earliest time among the data collection, probe, and performance is displayed.
  • The I/O rate read and I/O rate write columns display a small sparkline graph of IO values for last 1 hour, and displays the current value (in ops/s unit). A green or red up or down arrow appears next to the graph based on the opening and close values of the graph.
  • Threat notification recipients: The column specifies the email IDs to which the threat notifications are sent.
  • On editing any properties, such as Name, Location, Custom Tags, or Capacity Limit, or acknowledging and removing Alerts or Notification, the grid reloads and any sorting applied to any column is lost. It brings you back to the first page after reloading the data.

Call home systems

View all your storage systems connected through Call Home with cloud services. By default, you will see the pending storage devices that are not approved to be added yet. You can select the device and Approve or Decline the request to add the device to IBM Storage Insights. You can see the list of approved or declined devices, if any, by clicking the Approved or Declined button. To remove approved devices, select the device and click Remove. For more information, see Monitoring resources with Call Home

Community events

The community events bar appears at the bottom of every page in the modern UI and is available to all users, regardless of role. It displays upcoming community events in a continuously scrolling view, with each entry showing an event icon, date, and title so that you can quickly identify relevant activities.

Select an event to open a side panel that provides complete details, including event descriptions, schedules, and access or registration information. The community events bar automatically removes past events to ensure that only active announcements are displayed.
