Creating Storage as a Service capacity report
Create and share a Storage as a Service report that shows the daily capacity usage over time of the storage systems in your environment. Use the information in this report to better understand storage consumption compared to the base capacity, and any overages that require additional billing during the current and previous months.
About this task
The Storage as a Service report provides administrators with visibility into the capacity usage over time and base capacity of their monitored storage systems. You can use this information to identify when capacity usage exceeds their contracted base capacity and requires additional billing. Create reports to easily share information about your STaaS environments with colleagues.
Procedure
- Click Create Report. , and then click
- In the Summary Reports page, click Storage as a Service Capacity.
- Enter a unique name for the report.
- Select the STaaS environment that you want to report on, and click Next.
- In Select one of the pre-defined times for the report such as current billing month, current billing quarter, current billing year, or enter a custom time period. The default setting is current billing month.
- To preview the report and ensure that its recipients will get the information that they need, click Apply Filter, and then click Next.
- Enter the email recipients and subject title for the report. Separate each email address with a comma and no spaces, for example username@example.com,username2@example.com,username3@example.com.
- Send the report now or schedule the report to be sent regularly, such as daily, weekly, or monthly by date. You can send the report by email, and attach the report as a CSV, PDF, or HTML file. If you set the frequency of the report to Send Now, click Save and Send. If you set the report to be sent regularly, click Save and Schedule.
Results
The report is saved. Depending on the scheduling option, the report is sent to the recipients or scheduled to be sent later. If you want to change the configuration of the report, click Reports, select the report, and then click Edit.
