Upgrade your data collectors individually to prevent the data gaps in data
collection.
About this task
Upgrading data collectors individually provides you the control on the upgrade process of each
data collector and also prevents the data gaps in data collection.
Note: Upgrade option is available only when the data collectors status is
Down-level.
Procedure

From the Configuration menu, click Data
Collectors.
- Use one of the following options to upgrade the data collectors.
- Select one or more data collectors with Down-level status,
right-click, and click Upgrade.
- Select one or more data collectors with Down-level status, go to
Actions drop down, and click Upgrade.
Important: During
the data collector upgrade process, the upgrade routine deletes old collector files and directories,
except for logs, data, cache, and configuration files. Any user-created directories or custom files
placed under the data collector installation directory will be automatically removed during the
upgrade.
If you need to store custom files or directories related to the data collector, ensure
they are placed outside the data collector installation directory, or back them up before
upgrading.
