Explanation

IBM Storage Insights cannot log in to the Hitachi Export Tool to collect performance metadata for the storage system. This problem might occur when the incorrect credentials or credentials without the required permissions are used to log in to the Hitachi Export Tool.

Action

Verify that the correct credentials are being used to connect to the storage system. To view the connection credentials, click Resources > Block Storage Systems. Then, right-click the storage system and select Connections > Modify Connection.

Ensure that the username that is used to connect to the storage system has the required permissions for collecting performance metadata. The user must have the Storage Administrator (Performance Management) role in the Hitachi Device Manager

As a best practice, consider using a dedicated user with the required permissions for connecting to Hitachi VSP storage systems.
