Acknowledging a false positive alert

The alerts for workload anomaly detection warn about storage anomalies. Sometimes, the activities that trigger an alert could be intentional like the part of routine configurations.

About this task

When you receive an alert for workload anomaly detection, contact the system administrators so that they can determine if it is a false positive or what is the appropriate procedure for recovery.

Procedure

If an alert is identified as a false positive, complete the following steps to acknowledge it.

  1. In the modern UI: Click the bell icon on the overview page and locate the Workload anomaly detected alert tile. Click the tile, the alert details pane opens. Click the Acknowledge in the alert details pane.
  2. In the classic UI (From alerts details page): You can acknowledge the workload anomaly alert either of the following methods:
    • Go to Dashboards > Alerts. locate Workload anomaly detected alert and double click it. Click Acknowledge. Alternatively, you can right click Workload anomaly detected alert and select Acknowledge.
    • Go to Resources > Block Storage Systems. Click the Alerts tab. Locate Workload anomaly detected alert and double click it. Click Acknowledge. Alternatively, you can right click Workload anomaly detected alert and select Acknowledge.

Results

When false positives are acknowledged, the severity of the alert changes from Critical to Critical - Acknowledged.

Note: An alert for workload anomaly is not cleared with subsequent probes unless it is acknowledged.
