Upgrading IBM Storage Fusion HCI System
As an administrator user, upgrade components of IBM Storage Fusion HCI System from 2.4 to 2.5.2. The IBM Storage Fusion HCI System upgrade involves software and firmware.

Do the upgrade in the specified sequence.Note: The firmware version level for IBM Storage Fusion HCI System
2.5.2 is 2.5.
Procedure
- Upgrade IBM Storage Fusion HCI System management software. For the actual steps to upgrade, see Upgrading IBM Storage Fusion HCI System management software from 2.4 to 2.5.2.
- Upgrade the Global Data Platform (storage) service. For more information about upgrade, see Upgrading IBM Storage Fusion HCI System services.
- Upgrade the Backup & Restore (Legacy) service. For the actual steps to upgrade, see Upgrading IBM Storage Fusion HCI System services.
- Upgrade node firmware. For actual steps to upgrade, see Upgrading node firmware.
Results
- After you upgrade to 2.5.2, you can see the following two new IBM Storage Fusion services in the Services
page of the user interface:
- Data Cataloging
- Backup & Restore
- The host name convention changes between 2.4 and 2.5.2. For more information about the new host name convention, see Setting up the DNS and DHCP for IBM Storage Fusion appliance.
What to do next
- For all the backup and restore jobs to be successful post upgrade, run the following commands to
delete Kafka and Apache Zookeeper pods:
oc delete pod baas-kafka-0 -n baas oc delete pod baas-zookeeper-0 -n baas oc delete pod baas-zookeeper-1 -n baas oc delete pod baas-zookeeper-2 -n baas
After you run these commands, wait for the pods to restart.
