Adding a storage system

Storage systems are source types that can be used for data storage. The storage system uses the connection manager to establish a connection with the Data Resiliency Service.

Procedure

To add a storage system as a source type, complete the following steps:
  1. On the Storage systems page, click Add storage system. This action opens the Add source wizard.
  2. On the Connection manager tab, select a connection manager of your interest from the table, and then click Next.
    Tip: You can see more details of the selected connection manager such as state, number of sources registered, and location of the connection manager.
    Note: Only connection managers that are connected to Data Resiliency Service are active.
  3. On the Source type tab, select one of the listed storage systems source types, and then click Next.
    Note: Before you select, you must have a dedicated user role to access the source with the required permissions and desired level of access.
  4. On the Connection details tab, enter the following details of the selected source type, and then click Next.
    • For IBM FlashSystem source type, enter the following details:
      • Host name or IP address: Enter the hostname or IP address of the source.
      • Check certificate: Click to verify the certificate.
    • For Dell PowerMax source type, enter the following details:
      • Host name or IP address: Enter the hostname or IP address of the source.
      • Port: Enter the port number.
      • Check certificate: Click to verify the certificate.
    • For Pure Storage FlashArray source type, enter the following details:
      • Host name or IP address: Enter the hostname or IP address of the source.
      • Check certificate: Click to verify the certificate.
  5. On the Credential tab, select an existing credential from the table. Alternatively, click Create credential to create a new credential.
  6. Click Save.
    On the Storage systems page, the source type that you added is displayed in the table with additional information.
