Adding a connection manager location

You can add the location of your connection manager to specify the exact address or city of the connection manager where it is located. The additional information helps you to connect your data source with a connection manager of a specific location of your preference. Hence, provide, proper access and retrieve data from the correct location.

Procedure

To add the location of the connection manager, complete the following steps:
  1. Log in to IBM® Storage Defender®.
  2. Navigate to Data Resiliency Service > Connections > Connection managers.
  3. In the list of available connection managers on the Connection managers page, click the overflow menu of the connection manager you want to update.
    Tip: You can use the search option to reduce the list to a specific group of locations.
    1. In the search field, enter the connection manager name or partial name of the connection manager.
    2. The list is adjusted and reduced automatically.
  4. In the drop-down of the overflow menu icon, click Edit location.
  5. In the Add connection manager location pop-up window, add the city name of where the connection manager is located.
    Note: If there are multiple connection managers in the city, add a unique description along with the city name to distinguish the connection manager.
  6. Click Save.
