Adding a connection manager

To connect your on-premises resources with Data Resiliency Service, you must add a connection manager. By using a connection manager, you can connect multiple data locations to Data Resiliency Service.

Procedure

To add a connection manager, complete the following steps:
  1. Log in to IBM® Storage Defender®.
  2. Navigate to Data Resiliency Service > Connections > Connection managers.
  3. Click Add connection manager. The Add connection manager wizard opens.
  4. In the Add connection manager wizard, expand the Download button and click Download ISO to download the new image. This action starts downloading the ISO file that contains the connection manager software to your configured local download folder.
  5. To successfully complete the connection manager update process, complete the steps in Updating connection manager on-premises.
  6. To generate an API key, expand the Generate API key menu and click the Generate API key button. This action generates a unique API key.
    Note: Save this API key. It is required to securely connect a connection manager with your IBM Storage Defender account. The validity of generated API key is 30 minutes. If you do not have time to download and deploy the ISO software before the key expires, you must generate the key again.
