Application hosts
The Application hosts menu displays a page with a table of connected hosts. The source types listed in the table are automatically filtered by the Data Resiliency Service to show only application hosts.
An application host represents a workload or software product that consumes storage from a storage system typically as one or more volumes. And the application host is typically what a backup system interacts with in order to make copies of the data used (created or updated) for that application. A connected application host includes application servers that contain data relevant to the data resiliency of that application host. These application hosts connect to Data Resiliency Service through a connection manager. Application hosts of the same type are grouped together to create recovery groups. Currently, application host type includes VMware vCenter servers only. For more information about supported sources and resources see in the Terminologies of Sources and resources table.
