Application hosts are source types that can be used for data storage. The storage system uses the connection manager to establish a connection with the Data Resiliency Service.
Procedure
To add an application host as a source type, complete the following steps:
-
On the Application hosts page, click Add application host. This action opens the Add source wizard.
-
On the Connection manager tab, select a connection manager of your interest from the table, and then click Next.
Tip: You can see more details of the selected connection manager such as state, number of sources registered, and location of the connection manager.
Note: Only connection managers that are connected to Data Resiliency Service are active.
-
On the Source type tab, select the application host source type, and then click Next.
Note: Before you select, you must have a dedicated user role to access the source with the required permissions and desired level of access.
-
On the Connection details tab, provide the details of the selected source type, and then click Next.
- For VMware source type, enter the hostname or IP address of the source in the Host name or IP address field and then click Check certificate to verify the certificate.
-
On the Credential tab, select an existing credential from the table. Alternatively, click Create credential to create a new credential.
-
Click Save.
On the Application hosts page, the source type that you added is displayed in the table with additional information.
