Managing SMB clusters
The IBM Storage Ceph dashboard provides an interface for managing SMB clusters. You can create, edit, and delete the SMB clusters by using the Ceph dashboard.
About this task
You can opt to create the SMB cluster with 2 different authentication modes:
- Standalone
- This mode allows you to manually define and manage user accounts and groups within Ceph. It is suitable for setups where external authentication services are not required. To create an SMB cluster with Standlone as the authentication mode, see Creating users and groups access resources.
- Active Directory (AD)
- This mode integrates with an existing Active Directory domain, enabling centralized authentication and access control. Users and groups are managed in AD, providing seamless integration with enterprise environments. To create an SMB cluster with AD as the authentication mode, see Creating Active Directory access resources.
