Managing a library by using the leadm command
How to manage tape media by using the leadm command and the options that can be specified with it.
Note: If your IBM Storage Archive Library Edition system operates with a
non-IBM® tape library, follow the instructions available from
the hardware supplier.
The following leadm commands are used to perform the management operations for
IBM Storage Archive. For more information about
the leadm commands and their options, see leadm.
- leadm node show
- Displays detailed information about the node.
- leadm library show
- Displays detailed information about the library.
- leadm drive list
- Displays a brief list of information about all drives.
- leadm drive show
- Displays detailed information about a single drive.
- leadm drive open
- Opens a specified drive and adds it to the IBM Storage Archive LE resources.
- leadm drive close
- Removes a specified drive from the IBM Storage Archive LE resources, then closes the drive.
- leadm tape list
- Displays a brief list of information about all tapes.
- leadm tape show
- Displays detailed information about a single tape.
- leadm tape assign
- Assigns specified tapes as IBM Storage Archive LE resources.
- leadm tape unassign
- Unassigns specified tapes as IBM Storage Archive LE resources.
- leadm tape move
- Moves a specified tape to specified type of slot.
- leadm tape format
- Formats specified tapes.
- leadm tape unformat
- Removes the partitions on the tape. The user won't be able to access the data previously recorded.
- leadm tape recover
- Does an LTFS tape recovery against specified tapes.
- leadm tape rollback
- Does a rollback against a specified tape.
- leadm tape rollbacklist
- Obtains a rollback point on a specified tape.
- leadm tape unlock
- Unlocks

. - leadm tape sync
- Syncs a specified tape when it is mounted.
Attention:
- By the IBM Storage Archive LE default
configuration setting for authorizedclients, localhost is the only
host that can connect to IBM Storage Archive LE. For more information about changing this setting to authorize other hosts, see Configuring
default settings for adminchannel.Note: Beginning with version 2.1.2.3, the default port number changed to 7600 from 2112.

The following are the drive types that are supported by IBM Storage Archive LE.
