How to install the software that is required for the IBM Storage Archive on a Linux® system.
About this task
Complete the following steps to install the required software on a Linux system:Note: The IBM Storage Archive LE supports Red Hat® Enterprise Linux
(RHEL). Refer
to the topic System requirements for supported versions.
Procedure
- Open the Application menu
on the
toolbar.
- Select Add/Remove Software to
start Package
Manager in a GNOME desktop environment.
- Click
the List tab to display the
List page.
- Select All packages on
the List
page.

Verify that all of the required software is installed on your system.
- Required software packages for RHEL systems

- FUSE
- Java™ virtual machine (JVM)
- libxml2
- libuuid
- libicu
- openssl
- python3-pyxattr (for systems with RHEL 8.x installed. Requires
access to the Red Hat CodeReady Linux Builder repository)
- pyxattr (for systems with RHEL 7.x installed)
- The following software is also required to use the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to
monitor the system:
- Click the Browse tab to display
the Browse page.
- Select Development.

If not already selected, select Development Library and
Development Tools to classify the required software packages that are listed
in step 5.
- Click Apply to
start the package
installation.
