Restoring offline cartridges
Restore cartridges that have an offline status by using the eeadm tape online command. If any file for an offline cartridge was modified in GPFS, or on tape, the command fails.
About this task
Attention: When a tape is offline, do not modify its GPFS offline files on disk, and do
not modify its files on tape. Otherwise, some files that exist on tape might become inaccessible to
GPFS.
Problems that are caused by trying to use the eeadm tape online command on a tape that was modified while it was outside the library can be solved by importing the files with options. Use the eeadm tape import command with the --rename option (assuming the original file path is used).
