Requirements for starting IBM Storage Archive Enterprise Edition
Before you start IBM Storage Archive Enterprise Edition there are some requirements must be met.
When you start IBM Storage Archive Enterprise Edition for the first time, after you install it or upgrade it, ensure that all preinstallation, installation, postinstallation, and configuration tasks are completed. For a summary of these tasks, see Getting started with the IBM Storage Archive Enterprise Edition.
- HSM
- snmpd daemon
Starting the hierarchical storage manager (HSM)
The HSM component is started automatically with the ltfsee_config
command that
is run during the configuration process. For more information, see Configuration of the
IBM Storage Archive Enterprise Edition.
Verify that the HSM component is running before you start IBM Storage Archive Enterprise Edition. For more information, see Retrieving status information for HSM daemons.
If the HSM component is not running, start it manually before you start IBM Storage Archive Enterprise Edition. For more information, see
dsmmigfs start
and stop
.
Starting the snmpd daemon
If you are using the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) to monitor your system, you must start the snmpd daemon before you start IBM Storage Archive Enterprise Edition. For more information, see Starting and stopping the snmpd daemon.
