How to develop a custom user application

The custom user exit must be designed to use HIPAA data and delimiters in a specific format. The custom user exit must conform to the format of the data that is generated during run time by the compliance check application, which is only available during run time.

The string of delimiters must follow this format:*

Element Separator (ISA Element separator)
Repetition Separator (ISA11)
Component Element Separator (ISA16)
Segment Terminator (ISA Terminator)

The string of HIPAA EDI starts with the segment identifier that is followed by the loop ID. For example:
