Installing ITXA for Sterling B2B Integrator: Non-containerized deployment
The procedure for installing ITXA for Sterling B2B Integrator depends upon your current system and whether you want to include design components with the runtime installation.
Prerequisite product versions
- Sterling B2B Integrator V6.1.1 or later
- ITXA V10.0.1.5 or higher
- ITX V.10.1 or later. Optional if you are not invoking an ITX map. See installation phase 1 below for more information.
Additional requirements for ITXA and Sterling B2B Integrator
- ITXA must be installed on the same machine as the Sterling B2B Integrator node that is running the SPE Transformation Service, if that service is to be used.
- Sterling B2B Integrator Map Editor
requires installation of an IBM®
Java™ SDK. See the Sterling B2B Integrator System Requirements
(V6.1.1 or later) at https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/b2b-integrator/6.1.1?topic=overview-system-requirements.
Installing the IBM Java SDK can precede or follow installation, but must be done before the map editor is used.
-
CAUTION: If you update your ITXA and ITX product versions and are invoking ITXA through Sterling B2B Integrator, your compiled maps and your ITX and ITXA runtime components must be at the same version. ITX runtime components are backward compatible only. They do not work with newer version maps.

|
| 1. | Install IBM Transformation Extender. | |
| 2. | Install and verify ITXA components and ITX packs. | |
| 3. | Choose your installation scenario, depending upon whether you are performing a new installation of both Sterling B2B Integrator and ITXA, or an ITXA upgrade. | |
| 4. | Upgrade to Sterling B2B Integrator V6.1.1 or
later. Verify your Sterling B2B Integrator installation. If ITXA is installed after Sterling B2B Integrator, you must edit environment variables. |
When prompted during Sterling B2B Integrator V.5.2.6.1
installation, make these choices:

| 5. | Configure properties. Modify the ITXA customer overrides properties file spe_install_dir/ customer_overrides.properties file to override default property settings as necessary. |
For example, pack-related properties typically include the location of ITX compliance check maps. If the location of the compliance check maps is not specified, errors result when ITXA tries to use these maps to validate data. |
| 6. | Create and configure the SPE (ITXA) Enveloping, De-enveloping, and
Transformation services in Sterling B2B Integrator, as needed. If using Graphical Process Modeler, verify that icons for the installed services appear under All Services. |
Tip: If the Graphical Process Modeler is open when services are created, refresh to view
the icons.

| 7. | Export maps and other needed resources from Sterling B2B Integrator and import them into ITXA. | To import resources, use the speimport.bat command or
the Trading Partner UI. Restriction: You cannot use the command line to import envelopes into ITXA that have
been exported from Sterling B2B Integrator. Use the Trading Partner UI to import those resources.

NOT "1.6 or higher"-- Java 1.7 did not work per user group post 4/2015. B2Bi says that Java 7 SDK is required.
