Type 7 validation mechanism

Two mechanisms for Type 7 validation are included in the SPE Pack for Healthcare Payer. These mechanisms are rule-based validation, and custom user exit validation.

Rule based validation
Rule-based validation involves the use of SPE business rules to define requirements. Each business rule entry contains explicit information about the location of the data to be validated and the kind of check to be performed. Business rule entries also provide details about scope, conditions, or comparison objects associated with the rule. Access to create and modify companion guide and override business rules for Type 7 validation is provided in the SPE User Interface.
Custom user exit
User exit validation allows extended HIPAA X12 transaction data checking. When the option to perform custom user exit validation is activated, the compliance check process starts the specified user-developed, external application after rule-based validation for Type7 requirements is complete.
