Use the SPE Trading Partner User Interface to modify and save the parameter settings that
are used to determine the reporting and disposition of data that contains Type 7 exceptions.
About this task
The following procedures assume that you are in edit mode for the detail view of an envelope
where Type 7 validation is enabled.
Procedure

Ensure that under HIPAA Compliance Check Validation Settings, that
Companion guide rules will be checked, is checked, then go to the
Exception Handling for Type 7 parameter.

Select one of these settings for Exception Handling for Type 7.
- Select Error (Report exceptions as errors and reject the data) to report
Type 7 validation exceptions as errors and reject the data as invalid transaction set content.
- Select Warning (Report exceptions as warnings and accept the data) to
report Type 7 validation exceptions as warnings and accept the data as valid transaction set
content.

Left-click on Save to save your changes and return to the
Envelopes table or remain in edit mode to configure more envelope
parameters.
