Sample Standards Processing Engine deployment

This diagram illustrates a sample Standards Processing Engine deployment.

The following diagram is a generic representation of a deployment for a IBM® Standards Processing Engine solution.

Figure 1. Sample deployment
This figure is described in the text that follows it.

A Standards Processing Engine solution contains runtime and design components.

The SPE server, SPE database, and the SPE trading partner UI server can be installed on single or multiple systems, depending on performance requirements. They provide these components and functions:
  • The interface points that host applications use to interact with the Standards Processing Engine core functions
  • Standards Processing Engine common components
  • A provider that allows the Standards Processing Engine to work with its database
  • Standard-specific runtime components that are delivered by a Standards Processing Engine pack

The trading partner UI server hosts the web-based trading partner UI, a web server, and associated components.

The design component is a mapping desktop with a web browser. It contains mapping tools plus map design metadata that is delivered by the Standards Processing Engine pack. Optionally, for IBM Integration Bus customers, a Standards Processing Engine solution provides nodes that plug into IBM Integration Bus development tools. The mapping desktop and optional Standards Processing Engine nodes for IBM Integration Bus can be installed on single or multiple desktop computers, depending on your needs.
