Supported migration scenarios

This migration procedure is designed to support two primary scenarios:
  • Product version upgrades: Moving from an earlier version of the product to a newer IBM Sterling Transformation Extender release. For example, upgrading to IBM Sterling Transformation Extender 11.0.3 upgrades the default MongoDB version from 4.0.5 to 8.2.3.
  • Database security Upgrades: Upgrading to a higher version of MongoDB while remaining on the same IBM Sterling Transformation Extender version. This is often required to address newly reported security vulnerabilities (for example, upgrading MongoDB from version 8.2.3 to 8.2.6).
